We are delighted to share some wonderful news with our community. Resolven Miners’ Welfare Scheme CIO has been awarded a generous £12,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation, one of the UK’s most respected charitable funders.
This support will make a significant and immediate difference to the work we do here in Resolven. The funding will help us expand the range of activities and services we offer to local residents, creating more opportunities for social connection, wellbeing, and active participation within our community.
Supporting Our Historic Miners’ Welfare Building
A portion of the grant will also contribute to the ongoing preservation and maintenance of our historic Miners’ Welfare building along with refurbishing the old snooker room into a multi use space for the community. This much‑loved space has been at the heart of Resolven for generations, and safeguarding it ensures that it remains a welcoming hub for current residents and for those who will follow in years to come.
A Sincere Thank You
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the trustees of the Garfield Weston Foundation for this generous award. Your support strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful projects, protect our heritage, and continue serving the people of Resolven.
Looking Ahead
We look forward to sharing updates on the positive impact this grant will help us achieve. With the support of the Garfield Weston Foundation, we are excited to continue strengthening community life in Resolven and to build on the proud heritage of the Miners’ Welfare.
Thank you once again for investing in our community and our future.
